come up against someone/something – be confronted with or opposed by someone/something
We didn’t expect to come up against so many problems.
come up with something – produce or find a solution or idea
Ann usually comes up with the right answers.
get down to something – tackle something; start serious work on a task, etc.
Learning English idioms isn’t so difficult, once you get down to it.
go in for something – be very interested in a hobby or sport.
David goes in for collecting antique weapons. He has hundreds.
look up to someone – admire and respect someone.
Ray has always looked up to his uncle, who’s a very successful actor.
put up with someone / something – tolerate or bear someone / something
I’ve put up with her complaints long enough.
