On the one hand research on animals has brought us many benefits. It helped us discover ways to help people and other animals live healthier lives in the future. Moreover, scientists claim that there is no other way to test if certain drugs are safe for living beings.

С другой стороны, многие из этих экспериментов доставляют животным боль. У животных тоже есть права, и заставлять их страдать – это жестоко. Кроме того, не все тесты на животных принесло пользу людям.
To sum up there are strong arguments both for and against animal testing. Nowadays, scientists try to make experiments as humane as possible. However, I believe that animal testing is cruel and scientists should keep trying to find other methods to test new drugs.
Таким образом, имеются веские аргументы как за, так и против испытаний на животных. Сегодня ученые стараются проводить эксперименты так гуманно, как возможно. Однако, я полагаю, что тесты на животных – это жестоко и ученым следует продолжать пытаться искать другие методы тестировать лекарства.

ВОЗМОЖНЫЙ ВАРИАНТ ОТВЕТА:
Stray cats and dogs are a common problem in most cities these days. Should we try to help by adopting them or does that lead to other prob lems? On the one hand, giving a good home to a stray is a wonderful thing to do. It will keep the animal off the streets and save it from being killed or leading a really miserable life.
Сегодня бездомные кошки и собаки являются распространенной проблемой в большинстве городов. Следует ли нам попробовать помочь, беря их на содержание, или это приведет к другим проблемам? С одной стороны, предоставить дом бездомному существу – это замечательная вещь. Это удержит животное от улиц и спасет его от гибели или от несчастной жизни.
On the other hand, animals that have lived on the street may be difficult to train. They might take up too much space as well. Furthermore, the animal may not get along with any other pets / children you already have.
С другой стороны, животные, которые жили на улице, могут быть плохо обучаемы. Также они могут занимать слишком много места. Кроме того, это животное может не ужиться с другими питомцами или детьми, которые у вас уже есть.
To sum up, there are strong arguments both for and against adopting strays. I believe if you are thinking about adopting a stray you should think very carefully first as it would be terrible for every one if you had to take your new arrival back to the rescue centre.
Таким образом, имеются веские аргументы как в пользу взятия животного, так и против этого. Я полагаю, что если вы раздумываете над взятием бездомного животного, вам надо сначала очень тщательно подумать, так как для всех будет ужасно, если вам придется нового питомца отправить обратно в приют (дословно: в центр по спасению).
