Interviewer: Hello! I would like to thank you for your agreement to take part in our survey. It’s anonymous, so you don’t have to tell me your name.
Respondent: OK. It’s the first time I’ve taken part in such a survey.
Interviewer: Don’t worry, I will just ask you some questions. First of all, I need to ask about your age because our survey is to be representative. How old are you? You are fifteen, aren’t you?
Respondent: In fact, I turned sixteen last week.
Interviewer: You mean you were bom in the beginning of October?
Respondent: That’s right. On the 2nd of October.
Interviewer: Congratulations. Did you get some presents for your birthday? What was the best one?
Respondent: Actually, I had many, presents as books, sweets, even two tickets to the concert of my favourite group. But the most anticipated present was a brand new scooter. I’ve been dreaming about that for a couple of months.
Interviewer: Cool!
Respondent: Yes, I was on cloud nine when my parents gave it to me.
Interviewer: And what are your expectations for the coming school year?
Respondent: I think it will be difficult. You see it’s my last year at school. I’m going to enter a college. So I’ll have to take an exam in Chemistry. And that’s not easy for me at all. Interviewer: Yes, Chemistry isn’t easy Which college are you going?
Respondent: I’m going to try to enter a Medical College. I want to become a doctor. That’s been my dream since childhood.
Interviewer: That’s interesting. Please, tell me more about it.
Respondent: You see, my grandma is a dentist. She told me a lot of things about medicine when I visited her. I’ve spent every summer holiday there since I was five. Her stories were sometimes scary, sometimes exciting. And she took me to her working place a couple of times. So I decided to follow in her footsteps and to try this profession. I find it great to help people.
Interviewer: Well, what is your favourite school subject then?
Respondent: I like several school subjects. I like History very much. Especially I’m keen on the Viking Age. And I like Literature. I’m fond of reading very much. But the highest grades I have in Biology.
Interviewer: Biology? Why do you like it so much?
Respondent: I’m amazed that a man’s body is so complicated. And it’s been always interesting for me to learn about how the body works and how to live more than a thousand years, for example. I’d like to know how people will live in a thousand years. Maybe, I will invent some elixir of youth or immortality someday.
Interviewer: Sounds excellent! Thank you for your answers and cooperation.
Respondent: You’re welcome.
