land someone with something — burden someone with something he does not want

read something into something — interpret something wrongly; understand more than was said or meant
He didn’t say that he wouldn’t come. You’re reading more into his remark than was intended.
rush someone into something — cause someone to make a hurried decision without considering the consequences.
The estate agent tried to rush us into buying an old house.
talk someone into something — persuade someone to agree to (do) something.
The salesman tried to talk me into buying a caravan.
turn someone off someone / something — cause someone to lose interest in someone / something or to lose his taste for something
The advanced course in literature turned me off French.
