Здесь даны ряд упражнений на отработку фразовых глаголов: bring up, call off, let down, pack in, ring up, take off. К упражнениям даны ответы.

Значение фразовых глаголов

bring someone up — raise or rear a child
She brought six boys up.

call something off — cancel something
We’ll have to call the barbecue off. It’s going to rain.

let someone down — disappoint someone
I trusted Jeff, but he let me down badly.

pack something in — leave or end something (a job, a relationship, etc.)
She’s packed her job in and has gone to India.

ring someone up — telephone someone
He rang his brother up.

take someone off — imitate someone in a humorous way
He can take George Bush off beautifully.
