Marian wondered if her father believed it was true. Her father said he was not quite sure.
They ran deeper into the woods. Suddenly they began to hear thunder and saw lightning in the sky. It was pouring down now, but Marian’s father said it would stop in a minute.
Suddenly there was a tremendous flash. Marian was thrown into some bushes. She realized she had been struck by lightning. Slowly she sat up, her legs were bleeding, but she not wasn’t hurt badly. Then she saw her father. He had fallen under a tree and couldn’t move.
