This is the time when bookmakers to persuade new punters to open new accounts. With racing in the headlines, bookies see it as an opportunity to make hay by offering incentives.
Bookies hope that once you start betting on racing you will progress to other bets and, if you are really dumb, to their casinos.
So bookies offer incentives because they have profit. Most of the offers are worth having, but others are not straightforward. Remember, the small print often taken away.

HORSE LANGUAGE
If you hang around a stable for any length of time, you’ll notice that horse people have a language all their own. This language sounds like a foreign tongue to the uninitiated. It is what horse people use to describe the intricate details of the horse’s body.
Nature made horses to be virtual running machines that can reach speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour. The equine body is a combination of muscle and bone in an elegant and graceful package.
Horse people talk about their horses’ bodies the way mechanics talk about cars. In the equine world, if you want to keep up with such conversations, you must know the lingo. Have you heard the expression ‘no hoof, no horse? Well, it’s true. Without healthy hooves, horses can’t function well.

► Выражение would like имеет значение «желать, хотеть, предпочитать». Оно широко распространено в английском языке и используется как в официальной, так и в разговорной речи. Утвердительная форма I would like означает «хотелось бы». Она является более вежливой и тактичной, чем выражение с глаголом want.

► Чувство голода знакомо всем и каждому. Есть несколько слов для обозначения голода в английском: чаще всего это hungry (голодный), pekish (немного голоден). Если голод очень сильный, англичанин использует слово starving.
