The Jungle

In hot countries the woods are not like our woods. They are great dark forests, where the trees grow so closely together and are so tall, that if you look up, you will not be able to see the sky in some places.

There are many interesting things to see in the jungle. Birds, wild animals and insects live there, it is their home. Thousands of monkeys jump from one tree to another, or swing from the branches by their tails, making a noise talking to each other.

Then there are wonderful birds, such as we nowhere see in our country, except in the zoo.

Flocks of red and green parrots fly from tree to tree. They look very beautiful in the sun.

If you want to know more about the jungle, go to the library and take “The Jungle Book” by Rudyard Kipling. It is really a fine book!

В жарких странах леса непохожи на наши. Это огромные тёмные леса, где деревья растут так тесно и так высоко, что если вы посмотрите вверх, то в некоторых местах не сумеете увидеть небо.
В джунглях очень много интересного. Птицы, дикие звери и насекомые обитают там, это их дом. Тысячи обезьян прыгают с одного дерева на другое или раскачиваются на хвосте на ветвях, устраивают шум, болтая друг с другом.
Живут там и такие удивительные птицы, каких мы нигде не увидим в нашей стране, разве что в зоопарке.
Стаи красно-зелёных попугаев перелетают с дерева на дерево. Они очень красиво выглядят на солнце.
Если ты хочешь узнать про джунгли больше, пойди в библиотеку и возьми «Книгу джунглей» Редьярда Киплинга. Это действительно прекрасная книга!
