Mary: This happened about three months ago. I was doing a crossword puzzle in the café when my pen started leaking. I didn’t realise until it was too late. Immediately after that on my way to the office I broke the heel on one of my shoes. [Mary! Isn’t that document ready yet? Yes, sir. In five minutes.] Just before lunch I was doing an important job for my boss … when my computer crashed. At first I was quite calm. But as soon as I realised I had lost everything, I felt really depressed. My boss wasn’t very happy either. During lunch I had an accident with the salt cellar. Do you know how difficult it is to get tomato soup out of a white blouse? I was so upset. I had only bought the blouse the day before. Later on, I was taking some important documents to my boss. I wasn’t looking where I was going so I didn’t see the door open. I felt like crying. And then I saw the kindest smile I’d ever seen. It was Neil. He helped me up. As soon as I felt better, he took me for a coffee. We talked and laughed. He told me it was his first day in the office. I’d never met anyone like him before. We’re still together. It’s like they say, ‘All’s well that ends well’.
