The fact that you are interested in it will show in your voice and your body language and obviously this will make it more interesting for your audience. Secondly, it’s very important to… Er, where was I? Yes, it’s very important to spend a lot of time planning your presentation. Winston Churchill once said it only took him ten minutes to prepare a twohour speech, but he needed two hours to prepare a ten-minute one. Moving on to slides, well it’s worth pointing out that… I’m terribly sorry, Ladies and Gentlemen, but it looks as if the battery on my laptop has died. Right! I was going to mention slides. If you’re using slides, remember that pictures and photos are much more effective than boring text. Are much more effective than boring text with bullet points. Finally, it’s very important to hold your audience’s interest. It’s a good idea to try and get your audience to take part. Ask them a question. Tell them a joke. Ask people to make suggestions… |
