Does the future look bright?
(1__) Although they mostly agree that the world will change, some believe that the changes will be positive while others argue that they will be negative.
A lot of people worry about environmental problems. They believe that our planet will become more polluted and that this will make it impossible to live in some parts of the world. They are afraid that sea levels will rise so high that many islands will disappear, and that certain areas will be very dry. (2__)
(3__) In their opinion, technology will keep making our lives easier and scientists will manage to find the cure for lots of illnesses. Moreover, we will be able to fight pollution with the help of technology.

Людям нравится делать предсказания насчет будущего. Хотя в большинстве случаев они согласные, что мир изменится, некоторые полагают, что эти изменения будут положительными, в то время как другие считают, что они будут негативными.

Много людей обеспокоены экологическими проблемами. Они считают, то наша планета станет более загрязненной и что это сделает ее непригодной для жизни в некоторых частях мира. Они боятся, что уровень моря поднимется настолько высоко, что исчезнут многие острова, а некоторые районы станут засушливыми. Более того, определенные животные вымрут.
On the other hand, many people believe that the world will become a better place to live. In their opinion, technology will keep making our lives easier and scientists will manage to find the cure for lots of illnesses. Moreover, we will be able to fight pollution with the help of technology.
С другой стороны, многие люди полагают, что мир станет более хорошим местом для жизни. По их мнению, технологии продолжат делать нашу жизнь легче и ученые смогут найти лекарство от многих болезней. Более того, мы можем побороть загрязнение при помощи технологий.
The way I see it, our lives will certainly be more comfortable in the future. However, I do worry that we might not be able to keep pollution under control. Let’s all hope for the best.
С моей точки зрения, наша жизнь будет, конечно, более комфортной в будущем. Однако, я все-таки беспокоюсь о том, что мы можем не смочь держать загрязнение под контролем. Давайте все надеяться на лучшее.

What does the future hold?
Что несет с собой будущее?
Of course it’s impossible to know what will really happen in the future, but I think it’s important to think about the direction in which we seem to be heading. I think that technology will help us to improve the lives of most people and I believe that everybody will have enough to eat. My opinion is that doctors will find cures for most diseases and that technological progress will also affect how we spend our free time. In my opinion, people will go on holiday to space and we will see things that people today can only dream about.
Конечно, невозможно знать, что на самом деле произойдет в будущем, но я умаю, что важным является подумать над направлением, котором, как кажется, мы двигаемся. Я думаю, что технологии помогут нам улучшить жизнь большинства людей, и я полагаю, что всем будет хватать еды. Мое мнение заключается в том, что врачи найдут лекарства от большинства болезней и что технологический прогресс повлияет на то, как мы проводим свое свободное время. По моему времени, люди будут отправляться в космос на отдых и мы увидим вещи, о которых люди могут только мечтать.
Unfortunately, there is also the danger that some unpleasant things will happen, too. The way I see it, people will work until they are much older and some people think that people will fight for clean drinking water. I also fear that air pollution will make people very ill.
К сожалению, есть также и опасность того, что могут произойти некоторые неприятные вещи. С моей точки зрения, люди будут работать до очень преклонного возраста, а некоторые думают, что люди будут сражаться за чистую питьевую воду. Я также опасаюсь, что загрязнение воздуха сделает людей очень больными.
I think that the future will present us with many opportunities as well as some difficult challenges. However, humanity has survived well so far, so I am optimistic about the future.
Я думаю, что будущее представит нам много возможностей, а также и ряд трудных вызовов. Однако, до сих пор человечество выживало, так что я оптимистично настроен на будущее.
