1) We (jump) up and down, and waving like children at the people on the pier as the boat left the harbour. We (wait) for the summer to come all year and now it was here we were on our own yacht, sails hoisted and on our way on our first real sailing trip.

3) Have you ever gone to bed feeling that something great was going to happen to you the next day? The weather was good with a slight breeze so I turned off the engine and decided to take a rest on the foredeck. I must have fallen into a deep sleep, but when I woke up I heard a loud noise and felt the boat was rocking violently. I was very wet and I knew this wasn’t a good sign. As I got up I saw a lightning flash in the sky. Suddenly, a big wave came over the top of the bow. It knocked me down again. I knew the situation was very bad. I ran to the radio and made a distress call. After that, everything is a blur. I only remember waking up in a nice and dry hospital bed.
