Holmes left the breakfast table and stood near the window as he was saying this. Watson looked at him in surprise and asked how he could be so sure of that.
«I am sure of it because I see the dog at our door and I hear the bell which its master is ringing. I wonder why Dr Mortimer wants to see Mr Sherlock Holmes. Well, we soon will know. come in,» he added. There was a knock at the door. The door opened and Dr Mortimer appeared in the doorway.
