Gina: It’s not warm, is it?
Katie: I know. I can’t believe how cold it is this morning! It’s absolutely freezing.
Tim: That’s so true! / I’m afraid I have to disagree with you there. According to my digital thermometer it is three and a half degrees at present – so not freezing at all!
Gina: I can’t wait for spring this year. It’s been such a cold winter.
Katie: Oh, absolutely! / come off it!
Tim: I’m sorry but I can’t agree with you there. / That’s a good point. These are perfectly normal temperatures for the time of year. In fact, this winter has been rather warmer than average.
Gina: The bus service seems to be getting worse these days.
Katie: I couldn’t agree more! / No way! I’m late for work nearly every morning at the moment! It’s just a joke!
Tim: Exactly! / I agree to a point. I think it’s fair to say the bus service is less than ideal. However, by my calculations, the average time between buses is in fact less than a year ago – down from thirteen minutes to eleven and a half.
